Maj. Richard Joseph Shremshock, Usaf (Ret.)

On the evening of Wednesday, March 8, 2017, 85-year-old Richard Shremshock passed away peacefully surrounded by his family.

Richard was born on March 21, 1931 in Logan Ferry Heights, Pennsylvania to the late John and Anna Shremshock. With great pride and honor, he served in the United States Air Force for over 20 years, including the Vietnam War, and retired with the rank of Major. Following his military career, Richard was a flight specialist for the Federal Aviation Administration from which he also retired. In his spare time, Richard enjoyed being outdoors gardening and playing golf. However, his greatest joy came from time spent with his beloved wife and family, especially his four grandchildren. Richard was preceded in death by his loving wife, Myrtice Shremshock; son, Stan Shremshock; brothers, John, Jr., George, Michael, Andrew, and Steven Shremshock; and sisters, Ann McCullum and Helen Phillips.

His memory will forever be treasured by his sons, Ron Shremshock (Gina) of Bonaire; Rick Shremshock (Helen) of Houston, Texas; and grandchildren, Ricky (Karrah), Brett, Gene Marie, and Ryan Shremshock.

A rosary will be held on Friday, March 10, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. with a visitation following until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 11, 2017 in the Chapel of McCullough. Following the service, Richard will be laid to rest in Magnolia Park Cemetery with full military honors.
