Maj. Ronald Steven Hunt, Usaf (Ret.)

Ronald Hunt, 60, passed away on Thursday, August 10, 2017.

Ronald was born on January 13, 1957 in Lumberton, North Carolina to the late Purcel and Arbiadella Sanderson Hunt. He was raised in a military family that was stationed in different locations during his childhood. When Ronald was a teenager, his family moved to Greenville, North Carolina where he attended J. H. Rose High School. A natural athlete he was a member of the baseball, football, and wrestling teams. Later, he attended the Air Force Academy where he played on the baseball team.

Ronald proudly served as a Major in the United States Air Force where he was a Missile Manager, worked in Logistics, and taught at the Air Force Institute of Technology. Following his military career, he worked for various military contractors and currently was employed at Sawdey Solution Services. Ronald was a member of The Assembly at Warner Robins, Air Force Association, and the Military Officer’s Association.

His memory will forever be treasured by his loving wife of 17 years, Angela McClard Hunt of Warner Robins; children, David Andrew Hunt (Kristie) of Grand Forks, North Dakota, Hannah Alexis Hunt of Warner Robins; and sister, Sylvia Blue (Randal) of Pembroke, North Carolina.

Visitation will be Sunday, August 13, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, August 14, 2017 in the Chapel of McCullough. Following the service, Ronald will be laid to rest in Andersonville National Cemetery with military honors.
