Maj. Stephen A. Lauer, Usaf (Ret.)

On the morning of Saturday, October 29, 2016, Stephen Lauer, 82, passed away peacefully.

Stephen was born on January 23, 1934 in Syracuse, New York to the late Arthur and Gladys Lauer. Following high school, he attended and graduated from the University of Buffalo. Then with great pride and honor Stephen served in the United States Air Force for 21 years. He was stationed in Texas, Alaska, New York, Maryland, Georgia, Italy, Virginia, and New York where he retired with the rank of Major. During his time of service, Stephen was also an Executive Support Staff Officer and an Education and Training officer. Stephen was involved in his children's sports, Boy Scouts, and PTSA at Shirley Hills and Quail Run Elementary Schools.

His memory will forever be treasured by his loving wife, Starr Lauer of Warner Robins; sons, Mark Lauer (Becky) of Fairfax, Vermont; Sean Lauer (Theresa) of West Palm Beach, Florida; Eric Cheung of Atlanta; grandchildren, Isabella Waters, Luke Waters, Morgan, McKenzie and Michael McNall and siblings, Conrad Lauer (Arlene), Keith Lauer (Dorothy), Deborah Bowen (John) and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial services to celebrate Stephen's life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at Christ United Methodist Church. Stephen will be laid to rest in Elmlawn Cemetery in Buffalo, New York at a later date.
