Maj. Tiron D. Worley, Usaf (Ret.)

January 13, 1947 — April 5, 2017

Tiron D. Worley, 70, went peacefully to be with his Lord and Savior on the evening of Wednesday, April 5, 2017, surrounded by his family.

Tiron was born on January 13, 1947, in Crenshaw County, Alabama. He was a proud 20-year Veteran of the United States Air Force from which he retired with the prestigious rank of Major. Mr. Worley earned a Bachelor's Degree in Business from Louisiana Tech University and a Master's Degree in Business Administration at the University of Guam. During his military service, Ty and his family resided in many different places including California, Arkansas, Guam, North Dakota, Texas, and Saudi Arabia before finally settling in Warner Robins, Georgia, 28 years ago. After retiring from the military, Ty pursued a teaching career and taught middle school and elementary grades in Bibb County.

Tiron was a faithful member of Shirley Hills Baptist Church where he enjoyed being a member of Betty's Bunch Sunday School Class. Some of his pastimes included golfing, fishing, and woodworking, but spending time with his family was his all-time favorite. Mr. Worley's quick wit, big smile, supportive nature and generous heart will forever be treasured and remembered by all who knew him.

Tiron was preceded in death by his daughter, Ashley Worley; and his father, Arthur Houston Worley, Jr.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Sharon K. Worley of Warner Robins; daughters, Kimberley D. Diffey (Michael) of Fayetteville and Amanda Worley Coble (Chris) of Bainbridge, Pennsylvania; grandchildren, Tyler Hardy, Kayla Hopper, Aaron Diffey, Madison and Wyatt Coble; and mother, Gnovel Williams Worley of Butler.

The family will be receiving friends Saturday, April 8th from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 9th in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with the Rev. Joe D. Haselden officiating. Mr. Worley will be inurned in Magnolia Park Cemetery with Full Military Honors at a later date.

The family will accept flowers or memorial donations may be given in memory of Tiron Worley to the American Cancer Society, 804 Cherry Street, Ste A, Macon, GA 31201 or to Shirley Hills Baptist Church Endowment Fund, 615 Corder Road, Warner Robins, GA 31088.
