Major Albert "Wally" Wallauer, Usaf (Ret.)

Albert Curtis "Wally" Wallauer, retired U. S. Air Force Major, of Bonaire, GA passed away on
January 10, 2014. He was born to Albert Clarence Wallauer and Curtis Lillian Harris Wallauer
on January 23, 1931 in Hot Springs, Arkansas. He attended Hot Springs High School and
Subiaco Academy in Subiaco, Arkansas.

In 1947, Wally joined the Army Signal Corp of the U. S. Army Air Corps, but was almost immediately transferred to the newly formed U. S. Air Force. He served in the U. S. Air Force for 22 years as a jet fighter crew and flight chief, assistant crew chief on a B-36, aircraft maintenance officer and as a navigator in the Strategic Air Command. During active duty he attended Aircraft and Engine Maintenance School, Hydraulic Specialist School, and Jet Engine Specialist School, USAF Officers Candidate School, Aircraft Maintenance Officers School, and Air Force Navigation Training. He retired in 1969 and settled in Warner Robins. He moved to Hawkinsville in 1993 and then to Snellville in 2000 and returned to the Warner Robins area in 2005.

After retirement, Wally worked as a representative for the Jefferson Pilot Corp. of N. C., as the public relations representative for Kane Paper Company in Macon, briefly operated the Race Track at the City of Warner Robins Fair Grounds, founded and operated WW's Custom Golf Clubs, and bought, managed and sold real estate in and around Warner Robins. He also attended Fort Valley State College where he graduated with a Master of Science degree.

Wally was an avid golfer.

He is survived by his wife, Martha "Marty" Thompson Wallauer; three daughters, Janice Rene (Michael) Hartley, Danette Eileen Robitzsch, Erin Adele (Jim) Collica; one son, Curtis Henry (Melinda) Wallauer; 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

McCullough Funeral Home is handling his cremation. Entombment will be in Magnolia Park Mausoleum where a memorial service will be held on January 18, 2014 at 11:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Georgia Sheriff's Youth Homes, P.O. Box 1000, Stockbridge, Georgia 30281.
