Malcolm Rowland, 79, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 6, 2016.
Malcolm was born on August 5, 1936 in Fort Valley, Georgia to the late John and Leslie Stembridge Rowland. He was a graduate of Warner Robins High School Class of 1955. With great pride and honor Malcolm served in the United States Army Reserve. He also made a career in electronics at Robins Air Force Base, retiring after 33 years. Malcolm then began working at Bumper to Bumper Auto Parts. He attended Elberta Baptist Church and was a member of Rebekah and Odd Fellows. Malcolm was a Master Mason of Tyrian Lodge III for 25 years. In his spare time, he enjoyed woodworking, playing cards, and assembling puzzles.
His memory will forever be treasured by his loving wife of 54 years, Margie Rowland of Warner Robins; children, Denise Rowland Wood of Warner Robins; David Rowland (Erin) of Gray; grandchildren, William Wood, Jr., Logan Rowland, Morgan Cameron; siblings, Ronald Rowland (Shirley) of Warner Robins; Victor Rowland (Ioan) of Decatur; Sylvia Ivill (Bill) of Tucker; Billy Rowland (Judy) of Pensacola, Florida; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be Tuesday, March 8, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 9, 2016 in Oak Lawn Cemetery in Fort Valley.
Malcolm's family would like to give the caregivers at Compassionate Care Hospice a heartfelt "thank you" for the exceptional love and compassion they showed him during his time with them.
