Margaret Norris Arnett

July 8, 1927 — January 15, 2021

Margaret Arnett, 93, entered into the gates of heaven on Friday, January 15, 2021.

Margaret was born on July 8, 1927 in Frisco City, Alabama to the late Alec and Sophia Norris-Saunders. She was a member of Shirley Hills Baptist Church and the Joy Sunday School class. Margaret was the co-founder of Heart of Georgia Development Disabilities, Inc. She worked as a secretary at Bonaire Elementary for three years before dedicating twenty-two years of civil service at Robins Air Force Base. During her retirement, she worked with voter registration and assisted at the polls. Margaret also volunteered at the Georgia National Fair as a Fair Cracker. Her greatest job was that of mother, granny and great-granny. She enjoyed arts and crafts, reading, gardening but mostly supporting her family in all their many events. Her loving husband of seventy-one years, Johnnie Arnett and son, James Arnett preceded her in death.

Her memory will forever be treasured by her children; Johnnie Mack Arnett, Jeff Arnett (Tammy) and Dr. Brenda Arnett; daughter-in-law; Gayle Arnett; grandchildren; Lauren Brady (Greg), Lacey Jonte’ (Jeff), Jared Arnett (Colleen), Jacob Arnett (Mallory) and great grandchildren; Weston Hurst, Caeleigh Hurst, Rowan Jonte’, Will Brady, Evelyn Jonte’ and Matilda Brady.

Visitation with Margaret’s family will be Tuesday, January 19, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at McCullough Funeral Home with funeral services following at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel. Andy Cook will officiate. Following the service, Margaret will be laid to rest in Magnolia Park Cemetery. For friends and family unable to attend, the service will be streamed live via the McCullough Funeral Home Facebook page at www.facebook.com/mcculloughfuneralhome/live/.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be given in memory of Margaret Arnett to her son, Johnnie Mack Arnett’s Trust Fund at Synovus Bank located at 871 Warren Drive, Warner Robins, Georgia 31088, (478)-738-5822.
