Margaret Switzer, great wife and mother, passed away at home on Saturday, December 2, 2017. She was 83 years old.
Margaret was born on September 13, 1934 in Macon, Georgia to the late Jonnie and Bessie Blow. She graduated from Jones County High School and was employed by L.E. Schwartz & Son, Inc. in Macon, Georgia before becoming a stay at home mother to her two children. A devoted military wife, Margaret supported her husband, Gilbert while he was stationed all over the country with the United States Air Force. In 1966, he was assigned to Robins Air Force Base bringing Margaret back home to Georgia. She was a longtime faithful member of Shirley Hills Baptist Church where she was very active in her Sunday School Class and enjoyed helping with the Keenagers. Margaret leaves behind many cherished memories that will always live in the hearts of her family and many friends and church members.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Edna Avant and Delmas Blow.
Her memory will forever be treasured by her husband of 59 years, Gilbert Switzer; her children, Sherry Hudson (Ray) and Stephen Switzer (Tina); grandchildren, Crystal and Stephen Hudson; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Wednesday, December 6, 2017, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Shirley Hills Baptist Church with a funeral service immediately following at 2:00 p.m. with Brother Joe D. Haselden officiating. Margaret will be laid to rest in Magnolia Park Cemetery following the service.
McCullough Funeral Home and Crematory has the privilege of being entrusted with Mrs. Switzer’s arrangements.
