Marian E. Chamberlain

January 24, 1952 — February 4, 2011

Marian deFriess Chamberlain, 59, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on February 4, 2011, after a lengthy battle with cancer.

A visitation will be held Saturday, February 19, 2011 from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Christ Chapel Warner Robins. A Memorial Celebration of Life Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, February 19, 2011, at Christ Chapel Warner Robins. In lieu of flowers, Marian has requested that memorial contributions be made to the Sarcoma Alliance, 775 E. Blithedale #334, Mill Valley CA 94941 or online at www.sarcomaalliance.org.

Mrs. Chamberlain was born in Columbus, Ohio, on January 24, 1952, to the late John Boyd Flynn and Margaret Lucille Flynn.

Mrs. Chamberlain was a registered nurse. She worked eleven years in ER, Education and Same Day Surgery at St. Frances, and was part of the Crisis Response Team in Greenville, South Carolina; and more recently at Same Day Surgery at the Coliseum Medical Center, Macon, Georgia. She was active in her church and particularly enjoyed working in Christian Drama. She was passionate about square dancing and contra dancing with her husband.

She will be dearly missed by many whose lives she changed – patients she nursed back to health, co-workers and other health professionals she trained, those she helped in her jewelry business, and especially those who were brightened by her radiant smile and with whom she shared her Christian faith.

Marian personified her life verse; Hebrews 11:1 "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen."

Mrs. Chamberlain is survived by her loving husband, Gary Lynn Chamberlain; son, Bill deFriess, his wife, Wendy; grandchildren, Matt and Whitney, all of Byron; sister, Helen Headlee, Canton, Ohio.
