Marilyn Ann Beckmann

March 5, 1927 — May 12, 2021

Mrs. Marilyn Ann DeDecker Beckmann was born on March 5, 1927, in North Bergen, New Jersey. She was the daughter of the late Edward and Anna Donald DeDecker.

Marilyn and her husband, Bob, moved to Warner Robins in 1958. Along with homemaking and raising 4 children, Marilyn was a very active participant in community organizations including Cub Scouts, Girl Scouts, Warner Robins Senior Citizens, Church Women United, and the Pilot Club of Warner Robins, serving in various capacities in each of these groups. Marilyn was an active member of Faith Lutheran Church for many years, and attended Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in later years. She enjoyed leisure time at home with family, and after his retirement, traveling with Bob to the north Georgia mountains, where many more happy memories were created with children and grandchildren.

Marilyn devoted her life to her family and serving God by helping others. With her contagious smile and fun loving demeanor, she exemplified hospitality, making sure all who visited were comfortable and felt welcome. She loved people and influenced positive change in others by investing in the lives of those around her. She lived a long and fulfilling life before her passing on Wednesday, May 12, 2021. In spite of the many changes that came her way in her later years, she continued to brighten the lives of those who cared for her, all of whom she called “Honey."

In addition to her late parents, Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Robert Franklin Beckmann, who passed away on June 12, 2011, as well as a grandson, Dennis Jardine; and siblings, Joyce McGrath and Edward DeDecker.

The legacy that Marilyn left behind will continue through her children, Craig Beckmann of Warner Robins; Debbie Chatman (Jimmy) of Macon; Kathy Barger (Alan) of Warner Robins; Mark Beckmann (Sheila) of North Carolina; Barbara Jardine (Dennis) of New Jersey; grandchildren, Robert Beckmann (Brittany) of Centerville; Adrianne Jones of Perry; Ryan Jones (Britney) of Warner Robins; Eric Chatman of Pooler; Kimberly Chatman of Macon; Chance Beckmann of North Carolina; Joseph Jardine of New Jersey; seven great-grandchildren; siblings, Carolyn Ott of New Jersey; Claire Vasquez of South Carolina; as well as several beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
