Marion Lipps

July 8, 1938 — March 15, 2022

Marion Lipps was welcomed into the arms of his Savior on Tuesday, March 15, 2022, at the Phoenix at Lake Joy, in the company of his beloved wife and best friend, Ruth Lipps. Marion was in his 83rd year, and the son to the late Don and Goldie Lipps. Marion was the loving father of Lisa McKee (Scott), David Lipps (Jessica), and the late Tammy Franklin. He was the proud grandfather to Ashlee Williams (Leah), Codey Lipps (Chanteall), Tyler McKee, the late Brooke Lipps, Cameron, Nathan, Evan, and Nancy Glover; proud great-grandpa to Tate Williams and Brooklyn Lipps; sister, Shirley Jones Bledsoe; nieces, Deborah Pannell and Connie Stapleton; and special cousins, Jean Tinkle and the late Doyle Benfield.

Fondly remembered by his loved ones as the binding force that connected his whole family, Marion was a kind man who would give his shirt off his back for anyone in need. He set the example for love, strength, character, and integrity and was a role model to many of us and an all-around example of a good man.

Marion was a veteran of the USAF for 20 years and retired as a Tech Sergeant, followed by 15 more years in Civil Service at Robins Air Force Base. Upon retirement, he and his wife founded Lipps Construction. They built 25 homes together, including his beloved church home, Livingstone Baptist Church, where he was a charter member. He will be missed dearly.
