Martha Jackson Coleman

Martha Jackson Coleman, 90, loving mother and grandmother, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 17, 2011.

Visitation will be Monday, April 18, 2011 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 19, 2011 in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. Interment will follow at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 19, 2011 in Forsyth City Cemetery, Forsyth, Reverend Andy Cook officiating.

Mrs. Coleman was born on June 30, 1920, in Forsyth, and had lived in Warner Robins since 1946. A devoted homemaker, she was a wonderful seamstress and cook. First Baptist Church in Warner Robins was her church home. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of fifty-one years, James Mitchell Coleman; sisters, Dorothy Johnson and Lucille Fulghum; brothers, Elbert Jackson and H.J. Jackson; and parents, Leon Jackson and Myrtle Bryant Jackson.

Her memory will forever be treasured by her loving children, Janice Coleman Hughey (Chuck), and Judy Coleman Johnston (Mike), both of Warner Robins, and Nancy Coleman Garrett (Claude), Centerville; grandchildren, Debbie Hughey Pope (Lee), Angie Garrett Nix (Rusty) and Allison Garrett Thompson (Tim), all of Warner Robins, Susan Hughey Silverstruck (Jim), Kathleen, Kim Johnston McCaffrey (Joe), Roswell, Stacey Johnston Sullivan (Chad), Perry, Kristy Garrett Webb (Josh), Dallas, Georgia; eleven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to express their gratitude for the loving care received by the staff at Summerhill Nursing Home, where Mrs. Coleman resided for the last three years, and Heart of Georgia Hospice. Flowers will be accepted but those who wish may make a memorial donation to the charity of one's choice.
