Marty Wright Howell

With great sadness, the family of Marty Wright Howell, announces his passing. He entered into rest on Thursday, September 30, 2021, at the age of 47.

Born and raised in Macon, Georgia, Marty was a student at Central High School where he enjoyed playing soccer until graduating in 1993. From the time he was a little boy, he had a passion for taking things apart and putting them back together just to see how they worked. Following graduation in 1993, he took some classes at Central Georgia Technical College and began working at both The Radio Shack and The Sound in Macon. He was in heaven as all types of stereo equipment and gadgets were just at arms’ length. Marty’s love for tinkering with devices and contraptions was again fueled as he started working at the Wal-Mart Return Center 9194. He relocated to the Warner Robins area in 2001 with his family and started a maintenance career at Frito-Lay where he was working at the time of his passing. Aside from deconstructing and reconstructing machines, Marty was a huge Georgia Tech fan (GO JACKETS!) who loved spending free time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jerrell Wright Howell.

Those left to cherish Marty’s memory are his loving wife of 23 years, Mary Cronin Howell and his son, Brian Wright Howell, both of Bonaire; his mother, Rachel Nita Hearn Howell of Macon; and his dogs, Lightning and Lily.

Visitation with Marty’s family will be on Monday, October 4, 2021, from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A funeral service will immediately follow at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home, with Reverend Derrell Etheridge officiating. Marty will be laid to rest in Magnolia Park Cemetery following the service.

The family will accept flowers or donations may be given in memory of Marty to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl., Memphis, TN 38105.
