Marvin L. Underwood

Marvin L. Underwood, 90, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 10, 2018.

Marvin was born on September 7, 1927 in Robinson, Georgia to the late Lamar and Marzy Underwood. A proud United States Army Veteran, he honorably served his country during World War II with the Company C, 397 Military Police Service Battalion. Following his time in the military, he and his family settled in Warner Robins in the mid-1950’s. There, Marvin was a Civil Servant at Robins Air Force Base for 35 years before retiring and a member of N.A.R.F.E. He was an avid NASCAR and Atlanta Braves Fan. However, his greatest joy came from time spent with his beloved family. He was a member of Central Baptist Church and the Adult Five Sunday school class.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 58 years, Betty J. Underwood and son-n-law, Louis Copeland.

His memory will forever be treasured by his loving daughter, Paula Copeland of Perry; and granddaughter, Rachel Copeland of Perry, and siblings, Eugene Underwood of White Plains and Shirley Weaver of Marietta.

Visitation will be Monday, June 18, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A funeral service will immediately follow at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. Afterwards, Marvin will be laid to rest in Magnolia Park Cemetery with military honors.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations be given in memory of Marvin L. Underwood to the Central Baptist Church Mission or Central Baptist Church Building Fund, 1120 Lake Joy Rd, Warner Robins, GA 31088.
