Mary Ann Mcdonald Mekosh

Mary Ann McDonald Mekosh, formerly of Girardville and Centralia, PA, died on Monday, July 5, 2021, at Houston Healthcare, in Warner Robins, GA. She was born on August 20, 1930, in Connerton, PA, one of the late Luke and Mary McDonald’s six children. She enjoyed working for over 30 years as a heart monitor technician in Pottsville, PA and in Port Charlotte, FL, often telling people, “Don’t ever retire.” Mary truly loved working in healthcare, but her greatest joys were her sons and cats.

In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her beloved husband, George Mekosh; her sons, George J. Mekosh and Paul Mekosh; her grandson, Ian Mekosh; and siblings, Patrick McDonald, William McDonald, John McDonald, Luke McDonald and Jean Hutnick.

She is survived by her loving son, Gerald Mekosh (Julie); her grandchildren, Jennifer Mekosh, Lucas Avila, Kyle Mekosh and Adam Mekosh; and two great-grandchildren.

Mary will be laid to rest with a graveside service at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Fountain Springs, PA on Tuesday, July 13, 2021, at 10:00 a.m.
