Mary Christine Britt

August 4, 1934 — January 24, 2021

Mary Christine Britt, dedicated mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, January 24, 2021, with her family by her side.

Born in Forsyth, Georgia on August 4, 1934, Christine was the daughter of the late Edward K. and Perlie Cheek Tidwell. She was married to the love of her life, Otis Derrell Britt, for over 55 wonderful years. Christine retired from Civil Service at Robins Air Force Base and was the friendly and familiar face of Britt’s Northside Service Center for 20 years. She loved going to Bingo nights and was great at playing cards. A brilliant artist, Christine loved painting and passed her love and talent down to her daughter, Kaye, and her grandchildren. She absolutely adored her family and was sure never to miss anything of theirs. You could always count on her being there whether it was for Christmas, birthdays or baseball games. Christine was the epitome of a doting grandma.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of over 55 years, Otis Derrell Britt; her daughter, Kaye Blackmon; her sister, Opal Jackson; and her sweet dog, Prince, whom she loved like a child.

Those left to cherish her memory are her loving son, Terry Britt of Warner Robins; grandchildren, Robby Britt (Kim), Shelley Tatum (Rod), Crissy Britt (Zach Collins), Miranda Britt (Eric Cisne), Jake Blackmon (Amy), Josh Blackmon (Katherine) and Zach Blackmon (Jenni); 21 great-grandchildren; and many adoring nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

Christine’s family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 27, 2021, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 28, 2021, in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with Reverend Jeff Cleghorn officiating.
