Mary L. Jackson

Mary L. Jackson, 97, entered into rest on Thursday, September 27, 2012.

Mrs. Jackson was born on August 9, 1915 in Byron, Georgia. She was Valedictorian of Centerville High School's Class of 1933, and a wonderful homemaker. Mrs. Jackson was the oldest and longtime member of First Baptist Church Centerville, formerly Hattie Baptist Church, and was known for preparing delicious food and dessert for family and friends. Her husband, Henry Forrest (John) Jackson, Sr.; grandson, Kraig McKleroy; and parents, Henry Leverett and Molly Ethridge Leverett, preceded her in death.

Her memory will forever be treasured by her loving children, Angela McKleroy (Thomas), Eatonton, H.F. "Buddy" Jackson, Jr. (Joyce), Centerville, Deryl Jackson (Susan), Blairsville, Georgia, and Cheryl Anderson (Robert), Kathleen; thirteen grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; and one step-great-great-grandchild.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, October 1, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church Centerville, and the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Centerville Cemetery. Reverend Mobley Cross will officiate. The family will accept flowers, or donations may be given to First Baptist Church Centerville, 108 Church Street, Centerville, GA 31028.
