Mary V. Johnson

Mary Johnson passed away peacefully on Friday, October 19, 2018 at Heart of Georgia Hospice Inpatient Unit. She was 92.

Born in Mobile, Alabama on December 31, 1925, Mary was the daughter of the late Owen and Ina Roberts Vickers. She was a career homemaker, loving mother, devoted wife, and doting MaMa who loved her family dearly. Shirley Hills Baptist was her church home.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Henry I. Johnson; and siblings, Jesse O. Vickers, Ida Faye Lawley, Ernestine Blackburn, Charles Vickers, and Ester Lee Kidd.

Her memory will forever be treasured by her loving children, Linda Nan Vandigriff of Bonaire, Vickie Ree Barnett (Keith) of Byron, and Doug Alan Johnson (Sandy) of Bonaire; grandchildren, Lindsey V. Jordan (Kent), Ben Vandigriff, Amy B. Summers (Sean), Keith W. Barnett III, Stacey J. Fitzgerald (Mark), and Will Johnson; and seven great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Monday, October 22, 2018, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. After the service, Mary will be laid to rest in Magnolia Park Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial donations be given in memory of Mary to Heart of Georgia Hospice, 103 Westridge Dr., Warner Robins, GA 31088.

McCullough Funeral Home and Crematory has the privilege of being entrusted with Mrs. Johnson’s arrangements.
