Mattie "Lucy" Jones

Lucy Jones, 77, joined her beloved husband, Ray T. Jones, in Heaven on the morning of Friday, May 27, 2016.

Lucy was born on September 8, 1938 in Eastman, Georgia. She was a charter member of Gresston Baptist Church in Gresston, Georgia and later attended Green Acres Baptist Church in Warner Robins for several years. Lucy managed the private kindergarten program, Koral Klassic for over 26 years. She later went to work as an administrative assistant at the office of E. Carl Shaw, DDS Dentistry until her retirement. She was a true woman of faith and lived by example to all she knew. Lucy will be missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her son, John "Benny" Jones; and parents, John Cannon and Grace Barlow Ethridge.

Lucy leaves her memory behind with her loving grandchildren, Jonathan R. (Collette) and Tyler Jones, and Allison Foltz (Tony); great-grandchildren, Chloe and Kaylee Jones, and Carson, Peyton, and Kaylee Foltz; devoted sister, Johnnie Fay Kincaid (Ron); and niece, Shona Yates.

A graveside funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 31st in Magnolia Park Cemetery where Lucy will be laid to rest, Reverend Randy Toms will officiate. The family will receive friends at the cemetery and 636 Smithville Church Road following the service.

The family will accept flowers or donations may be given in memory of Mattie "Lucy" Jones to Heart of Georgia Hospice, 103 Westridge Dr., Warner Robins, GA 31088.
