Melvin C. Redmond, 64, entered into rest on Saturday, July 26, 2008.

Mr. Redmond was born on May 27, 1944, in Mobile, Alabama. With pride and honor he served his country and retired from the United States Air Force, having served in the Vietnam War. Mr. Redmond was the treasurer of the Georgia Lions Camp for the Blind, member and Melvin Jones fellow of the Centerville Lions Club and a volunteer at Vogel State Park. His parents, William G. and Myrtle Redmond and sister Jeanette Williams, preceded him in death.

His memory will forever be treasured by his loving wife, Edith Redmond, Warner Robins; daughters, Terri Madrid (Albert), Yorktown, Virginia, Lisa Redmond and Sharon Redmond Cavanaugh (George), both of Warner Robins; grandchildren, Christopher A. Madrid, Tonie Hamm Slaughter, Justin D. Madrid, Joshua Hamm and Sydney R. Cavanaugh; brother, Ken Redmond, Mobile, Alabama; sister, Linda Redmond Booker, Tallahassee, Florida, many nieces and nephews, family and friends.

Visitation will be Tuesday, July 29, 2008 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 30, 2008, in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with interment following in Magnolia Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Centerville Lions Club, P.O. Box 464, Centerville, Georgia.
