Mema Kimberly

Mema Kimberly, 92, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 6, 2016.

Mema was born on July 22, 1924 in Chester, Georgia to the late George and Ruby Taylor Barlow. A natural born athlete, she enjoyed playing basketball in high school. Mema was a devoted Christian who truly loved her church. As a member of Liberty Baptist she enjoyed teaching the 8 and 9-year-old Sunday School Class. Mema worked in electronics at Robins Air Force Base, retiring after 30 years. She always enjoyed the little things in life such as lipstick and hair rollers. Mema believed in always looking your best on any given day. She also loved growing flowers, shopping at the dollar store and cooking. However, her greatest joy was found in family and most particularly in being an adoring "Mema" to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Along with her parents, her loving husband, William Kimberly; son, Wayne Chapman Kimberly; grandson, Wayne George Kimberyl, and brothers, Odis Barlow, Bo Barlow and Willie Barlow, preceded her in death.

Her memory will forever be treasured by her grandchildren, Kelly Wilson (Charlie) of Adrian; Amanda Kimberly of Columbus; Crecia Wilson (Rodney) of Warner Robins; great-grandchildren, Cole Simmons, Chapman Wilson, Chloe Simmons, Kaylee Wilson, Connor Simmons, Carleegrace Simmons, Cashe Smith; sister, Mary Ellen Beck of Eastman as well as several nieces and nephews.

Visitation Mema's family will be held, Monday, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral services will immediately at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of McCullough. After the service, Mema will be laid to rest in Magnolia Park Cemetery.
