Michael J. Redmon, 60, of Jefferson City, passed away on Sunday, January 13, 2019, at his residence.

Michael was born on January 8, 1959, in San Rafeal, California the son to Mary Alice Peacock Redmon and the late William Roy Redmon.

Michael proudly served in the United States Army as a Military Police from May 17, 1984 until he was honorable discharged on September 24, 1995. After the Army, Michael went to work for the Jefferson City Correctional Center in Jefferson City, Missouri as a prison guard.

Michael was a member of the Catholic faith, and enjoyed hunting, fishing and writing poetry.

Michael is survived by his mother, Mary Alice Redmon of Warner Robins; sibilings, Sharon Marie Redmon and Glenn A. Redmon, both of Warner Robins, and Michelle C. Johnson of Billings, Montana; three nieces, Laura Anne Johnson, Jennifer Lee Jones and Kimberly Lynn Johnson; one nephew, Lucas Housel; and great-nieces and nephews, Sephora Edissa Jones, Ezri Adele Jones, James Tyndle Jones and Nell Caliopi Jones.

Visitation was held on Thursday, January 17, 2019, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Morton Chapel in Linn, Missouri. Michael will be laid to rest in Magnolia Park Mausoleum at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 22, 2019.

Expressions of sympathy may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl., Memphis, TN 38105.
