Michael James Walsh

October 26, 1926 — February 18, 2023

On the morning of Saturday, February 18, 2023, U.S. Army Veteran, Michael James Walsh, passed away peacefully at home. He was 96.

Michael was born in Kokomo, IN on October 26, 1926 to the late Patrick Henry and Veronica Weber Walsh. He proudly served his country in the United States Army for some years during the Korean War and went on to retire from Continental Steel with many years of dedicated work. He was a longtime parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, as well.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Ellen Walsh; his son, Timothy Walsh; his stepson, Gerald Evans; four sisters; and one brother.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving children, Terry Walsh (Jo Ann), Stephen P. Walsh and Winifred L. Bade; stepdaughter, Sharon Custer (Lee); 4 grandchildren; 5 step-grandchildren; and 13 step-great-grandchildren.

A funeral service for Michael will take place on Monday, February 20, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with Monsignor Fred Nijem and Deacon Jim Hunt officiating.  He will be laid to rest in Parkway Memorial Gardens following the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations be given in memory of Michael to Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 300 S. Davis Dr., Warner Robins, GA 31088.
