Michelle Blake Nixon, 64, passed away peacefully early on the morning of Tuesday, September 18, 2018. “Saint Michelle, Patron Saint of spoiled children, dogs…and husband.”

Mrs. Nixon was born on October 16, 1953 in Manchester, New Hampshire to the late Earl D. and Thelma Martin Blake. A 1971 graduate of Warner Robins High School, she attended Georgia Southwestern College before going to work on Robins Air Force Base from 1981 until 1994. She relocated to Nashville, Tennessee where she was employed by Crosslin Building Supply. Most recently, she worked as an Inventory Specialist for Bass Pro Shop Distribution Center in Macon. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Michael Blake and Faye Blake, and her nephew, Seth Blake.

Her memory will forever be treasured by her adoring husband of forty-four years, John David Nixon; her daughters, Tanya Kendall Nixon of Lebanon, Tennessee, Gena Nixon Mefford of Warner Robins, and Jada Blair Nixon of Atlanta; her grandchildren, Kody Lee Mefford, John Kendall Johnson, and Major Ali Simmons; her sisters, Sharon Fowle of Denver, Colorado and Penny Blake of Warner Robins; and a host of other loving family members and friends.

The memorial service celebrating Mrs. Nixon’s life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 22, 2018, in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with Reverend Bruce Brookshire officiating. Following the service, the family will receive friends at a reception held in The Farmhouse at McCullough Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that contributions be made in memory of Michelle Nixon to the Food Pantry at Grace Fellowship Church, P.O. Box 1720, Warner Robins, Georgia 31099.

The family would like to express their deepest appreciation to the staff of the CVICU at Medical Center, Navicent Health in Macon, Georgia and to the staff at the Shepherd Center in Atlanta, Georgia for their care and compassion shown to Mrs. Nixon.

McCullough Funeral Home and Crematory has the privilege of being entrusted with Mrs. Nixon’s arrangements.
