Mitchell Paul Moody

On the morning of Monday, February 12, 2018, Mitchell Moody, 58, passed away unexpectedly.

Mitch was born on March 14, 1959 in Long Beach, California. He was the Pitmaster and executive chef at Anderson’s Bakery, Catering, and BBQ. Mitch was a widely respected member of a vast BBQ community and friend to many professional BBQ masters. He was also a well-respected rock crawler, Jeep enthusiast known as the “Great 88”. Mitch helped map out mines and long abandoned sites in the California Deserts. He was a past member of the organization “My Jeep Rocks”. Mitch also loved shooting guns, fishing, kayaking, and in his younger years, mountain bike cycling.

His father, Jack Moody, preceded him in death.

His memory will forever be treasured by his loving wife, Tammy Anderson-Moody of Warner Robins; his mother, Ginger Moody of Lakewood, California; brother, David Moody of Long Beach, California, and aunt, Donna Manning of Santa Ana, California.

Services will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations be given in memory of Mitchell Paul Moody to The Jones Diabetes Center, 265 Sheraton Blvd, Macon, GA 31210.
