A dedicated artist and creative thinker, Monica Gayle Herrington Hyatt, 53, passed away on Monday, May 31, 2021.

Born on December 19, 1967, in Evansville, Indiana, Monica was the daughter of Victoria A. Herrington and the late Robert Earl Herrington. In 1986, she graduated from Pullman High School in Pullman, Washington, before earning her Bachelors of Science in Chemical Engineering from Washington State University in 1992. Shortly thereafter, she accepted a position as a Research Engineer at Battelle in Richland, Washington. Moving to Alexandria, Virginia, in 1999, she worked diligently as an Operations Manager and Senior Developer at Robbins-Gioia (RG) until 2003. Making Orlando, Florida, her permanent residence in 2005, she began her long-term career with Full Sail University, in Winter Park, Florida. She started as a Studio Artist in Computer Animation, before promoting to an Associate Course Director, and finally accepting her most recent position as a Course Director. Coinciding with her career at Full Sail University, she completed her Bachelors of Science in Computer Animation and earned her Master’s in Business Intelligence in 2017.

Although Monica loved to learn and was dedicated to her career, she also enjoyed playing her favorite computer games, watching Star Wars, letting her imagination run freely as she drew, and settling in with a good book.

Her memory will forever be treasured by her mother, Victoria A. Herrington; siblings, Miranda Herrington-Nunez (Angel) and Robert L. Herrington (Carolyn); niece, Isabella Nunez; nephews, Logan Herrington, Nick Herrington, Sam Nunez and Jack Herrington.
