Myrtle Jackson

Myrtle Jackson, 81, walked into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on the evening of Tuesday, October 11, 2016.

Born on February 19, 1935 in Goose Rock, Kentucky, Myrtle was the daughter of the late Frank and Minnie Gibson Gray. Shortly after her high school graduation, she proudly joined the United States Air Force where she served for three years. Mrs. Jackson married the love of her life, Howard Mason Jackson on December 7, 1957 and made the decision to be a stay at home mother to their daughters, her lifelong career. She was a wonderful homemaker who enjoyed cooking and preparing meals for family and friends. Myrtle will forever be remembered with love and affection by a family who will cherish the memory of her sweet smile and generous spirit.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by her siblings, Holly, Lilly, Cecil, Walter, Melvin, and Jim Gray, Gladys Arnold, and Molly Stiff.

She will forever live in the hearts of her devoted daughters, Sharon Jackson of Warner Robins and Yvonne Houser of Bend, Oregon; granddaughter, Anna Scearce of Danville, Virginia; siblings, Bertha Gibbs of Albany, J.C. Gray (Pauline) of Manchester, Kentucky, and George Gray (Ruth) of London, Kentucky; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, and friends.

Visitation will be Friday, October 14th from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 15th in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. Following the service, Mrs. Jackson will be laid to rest in Magnolia Park Cemetery.
