Nancy Dianne Wilson

Nancy Dianne Wilson was received into the arms of Jesus on Monday, January 24, 2022. She was 74 years old.

A longtime employee of the Houston County Board of Education, Dianne spent 29 years as a secretary during her tenure. As a side job, she was the former coach of the Warner Robins Middle School track team. She was passionate about track and was a great supporter of her children’s sports and extracurricular activities. Even after her kids grew up, Dianne was there, cheering them on. There wasn’t much down time for this Type-A woman. Her vivacious and outgoing personality made her memorable to all those she met. No one who met Dianne forgot her. She left her mark on everyone. Her passion for serving was not limited to her family. Not a skeet shooter herself, Dianne received the Fred Missildine Award for her outstanding and sustained contributions to the sport of skeet shooting. When she did have free time, Dianne enjoyed fishing at the pond her husband made for her at their hunting land and cooking up a great meal for her family. She fulfilled a bucket list item when she recently bagged a deer. Most of all, she adored spending time with her grandchildren.

Dianne was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Annie Reeves Sprott, along with her brother, Steve Sprott.

Those who will forever treasure her memory include her husband of 54 years, William Harold Wilson, Sr.; children, Michelle Halpin (Jim) of Texas, Jennifer Mitchell (William) of Alaska, and William Wilson, Jr. (Stephanie) of Georgia; grandchildren, William Mitchell (Mary Claire), Alex Johnson, Brooke Mitchell, Trey Wilson, and Colby Wilson; and siblings, Emily Wellman (Bill) and Kenny Sprott; as well as many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, January 28, 2022 at McCullough Funeral Home. Her service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 29, 2022 in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. Dianne will be laid to rest at Magnolia Park Cemetery.
