Nicholas "Nick" Mario Esposito

October 19, 1984 — July 12, 2020

Nicholas “Nick” Mario Esposito, 35, passed away on Sunday, July 12, 2020, in a tragic skydiving accident.

Born in Sacramento, CA on October 19, 1984, Nick grew up on Maui Island, Hawaii where he learned to skateboard, surf, box, dirt bike, drift cars and cause plenty of trouble. He moved to the mainland briefly after high school, but returned to Hawaii less than 2 years later and became an electrician thanks to the influence of his brother-in-law, Tony. Nick met his future wife, Kristina, on an airplane in 2010 shortly after she moved to Hawaii and was introduced to skydiving in 2011; he instantly fell in love with both. In 2013, Nick and Kristina moved to California where they were married at Sebastiani Vineyard in Sonoma. It was there that Nick turned skydiving into his profession. He became a rigger, a videographer, a tandem instructor and an AFF instructor. His favorite thing about skydiving was sharing his passion with others. No matter how long Nick knew you, he made you feel like you were the only person that mattered in that moment. He would give the shirt off his back or the altimeter off his wrist if you needed it. Nick was full of energy, light and enthusiasm for life, and filled any room he entered with laughs and love. With moves to Dayton, OH in 2015 and Warner Robins, GA in 2019, his skydive family continued to grow.

Nick threw himself into everything he did 100%. When not skydiving, he could be found maintaining an amazing yard, doing intense workouts, (over)growing a tomato garden, or flying homebuild quadcopters annoying his neighbors and the occasional golfer. Nick turned house after house into beautiful, high-tech homes for his wife and their two dogs, and he was a master in the kitchen making sure everyone who visited left well fed.

Nick was preceded in death by his mother, Karen Anne (Vannucci) Esposito.

Nick is survived by his wife, Kristina (Lechner) Esposito and their dogs Ace and Chief; father, Dominic Esposito; sister, Mary (Esposito) Bevill, niece, Dawna Bevill and Dawna's father, Tony Bevill. Nick's loss will also be felt by his extended family and a loving skydiving community.
