Oliver J. ''Woody'' Hurd

Oliver J. "Woody" Hurd, 88, entered into rest on Wednesday, May 7, 2014.

Woody was born on September 25, 1925 in Felton, Delaware to the late Benjamin and Mary Jones Hurd. With pride and honor, he served his country in United States Army in the Infantry Division and in the United States Air Force from which he retired with the rank of Master Sergeant. He was a longtime member of Second Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Dunn Hurd; parents; and siblings, Marie Jones and Louis Hurd.

Woody's memory will forever be treasured by his loving sons, Danny Hurd of Warner Robins, Georgia and Terry Hurd of Shreveport, Louisiana; grandchildren, Ryan, Kayley and Conner Hurd; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 10, 2014 in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with entombment following in Perry Memorial Gardens Mausoleum with Full Military Honors. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations be given to Happy Hour Workshop, 716 Young Ave., Warner Robins, GA 31093.
