Opal C. Mason, 87, entered into rest on Sunday, April 1, 2012.

Mrs. Mason was born on January 16, 1925 in Dooly County, Georgia. A retired bookkeeper with Robins Air Force Base, she was a member of Chamlee Memorial Baptist Church in Fort Valley. Her parents, James O. Cross and Essie Nelson Cross; two brothers and one sister, preceded her in death.

Her memory will forever be treasured by her husband of thirty-four years, Thomas Mason, Warner Robins; children, Tommy Stephens (Kristen), Orlando, Florida and Charlene Boor, Phoenix, Arizona; stepson, Jack Mason (Elaine), Jesup, Georgia; brothers, J.O. Cross, Jr. (Ruth), Unadilla, Georgia, Reverend William Mobley Cross (Chalene), Centerville, and James Lee Cross (Sidney), Loganville, Georgia; sister, Janice Duncan, Peachtree City, Georgia; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Wednesday, April 4, 2012 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with interment following in Magnolia Park Cemetery. The family will accept flowers or donations may be made to American Lung Association of GA 2452 Spring Road Smyrna, GA 30080-386.
