P01 Gary William Stusak, U.S. Navy (Ret.)

January 31, 1942 — October 4, 2019

Gary Stusak peacefully passed away at his residence on Friday, October 4, 2019, with his beloved family by his side. The son of the late William L. and Janet F. Stusak, Gary was born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He bravely fought during the Vietnam War and served two tours honorably spending over 20 years in the United States Navy. He was a longtime member of First Methodist Church in Metter, Georgia, where he was also a member of the American Legion, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Two years ago, Gary made Kathleen his permanent home. It was then that he joined Perry United Methodist Church and became a member of the choir. He also moved to the Perry American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars. In his free time Gary enjoyed Model Railroading; he loved receiving his Model Railroad Magazine monthly and learned all that he could about these trains. Most of all, Gary was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and a friend who will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

In addition to his parents, Gary was preceded in death by his brother, Donnie Stusak; grandparents, Leon and Valesta Stusak, and Mr. and Mrs. John Morton.

His memory will forever be treasured by his loving wife of 51 years, Sharon Kay Stusak; children, Michele Stusak, Angela Stusak Daly (Dan), and Craig William L. Stusak; grandchildren, Cody Daly, Nicholas Daly, Bryan Daly, and Ian Stusak; sister, Muriel Hobbie (Dan); niece, Christine Hutchison; and nephew, Scott Cover.
