Patricia Jean Holland

September 28, 1949 — December 8, 2019

Patricia Jean Holland passed away at her home on the morning of December 8, 2019. She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Robert (Bob) Holland, Jr. and her two children, John Robert and Kimberly Ann.

Pat was born into an Air Force family in New York City, New York, as the eldest of four brothers and a sister. During her early years, her father was a medical student and the family traveled across the country as part of his education and training to become a physician. Throughout the duration of her father’s Air Force career, Patricia lived in a diverse number of places ranging from Maryland, California, Texas, Washington State, Alabama, and Clark Air Base, Philippines.

In March 1967, she met her future husband Bob, whose family was also stationed at Clark Air Base. After graduation from high school, Pat attended Maryknoll College in Manila, Philippines; Dominican College in San Rafael, California; and completed her undergraduate degree in June 1971 at the University of California at Riverside. She subsequently received her Master of Education from Mercer University in Macon, Georgia in 2001. Her affiliation with the Air Force continued after her marriage in June 1970 to Bob. Her son, John, was born while they were stationed at Naval Air Station, New Orleans, Louisiana, and her daughter, Kimberly, was born several years later at Robins AFB, Georgia.

After the birth of her children, Patricia was a devoted stay-at-home mother who would regularly volunteer her time at Sacred Heart School, Warner Robins, Georgia while her children were attending school. At the beginning of the 1990s, she returned to work as a teacher at Linwood Elementary and Robins Elementary schools at Robins Air Force Base. She concluded her teaching career in May of 2017 after spending her final ten years at Bonaire Elementary School.

Once time was afforded to them, Pat and Bob embarked on several trips throughout Europe after their respective retirements. She was an avid reader, that one could always rely upon for a lesson or insight gleaned from classic works of literature and poetry.

Patricia is preceded in death by her father, John R. Archdeacon of Saratoga, California.
In addition to her husband and children, she is survived by her mother, Molly T. Archdeacon (Sinclair) of Fairfield, California, and her siblings, Douglas A. Archdeacon of Gardnerville, Nevada; John L. Archdeacon of San Ramon, California; Richard P. Archdeacon of San Jose, California; Moira A. Woodhouse (Archdeacon) of Sparks, Nevada; and Kenneth B. Archdeacon of Rio Vista, California. Pat is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
