Patricia S. Walker

December 29, 1950 — December 25, 2020

Patricia S. Walker, 69, entered the gates of heaven on Friday, December 25, 2020.

Patricia was born on December 29, 1950 in Houston, Texas to the late C.L. “Sam” and Gloria Maples Sammons. Growing up in a military family, she was able to travel the world having lived in England, Mississippi, Louisiana and India before moving to Warner Robins prior to her senior year of high school. Patricia graduated in 1968 from Warner Robins High School, attended college at Georgia Southern University and obtained her Master’s in Education at Georgia College. In 1976, Patricia began her teaching career at C.B. Watson and later taught fourth grade at Westside Elementary prior to her retirement in 2006. Patricia loved all her schoolchildren and kept class photos for every class she taught. Outside of teaching, Patricia worked diligently assisting her husband, the late Mayor Donald Walker, with his businesses, Walker Realty and Certified Auto Sales, and supported him through the years in his role as Mayor of Warner Robins. Patricia loved roses, sewing and cooking but she will be remembered most as a devoted Grandma. The calmest, most patient, incredible, funny and quit witted person you would ever meet, Patricia will be missed by all her family and friends.

Her memory will forever be treasured by her loving daughter, Stephanie Walker; grandchildren, Amanda Rainey and Joshua Rainey; siblings, Joyce Parnell (David), Elaine Chandler (Cary), both of Bossier City, Louisiana and Bill Sammons (Robin) of Katy, Texas.

A graveside service celebrating Patricia’s life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at Magnolia Park Cemetery with Pastor Jordan Pool officiating. Family will receive friends following the graveside service. For friends and family unable to attend, the service will be streamed live via the McCullough Funeral Home Facebook page at www.facebook.com/mcculloughfuneralhome/live/.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations be given in memory of Patricia Walker to the Beverly Knight Olson Children’s Hospital at 888 Pine Street, Macon, Georgia 31201.
