Peggy Stocker, 75, passed away on Tuesday, August 14, 2012.

Peggy was born on July 14, 1937 in Louisville, Kentucky at Deaconess Hospital to the late James and Rosemary Wilson of Louisville. She was a homemaker, mother, wife, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Peggy was very active with her family and was extremely proud of them all. She was confidante to her precious grandchildren, who were her world, and her greatest passion was going camping with her husband and attending NASCAR races with her children. Peggy enjoyed watching every University of Kentucky basketball game and most every Kentucky Derby race at Churchill Downs. She also loved keeping in shape with Water Aerobics at The Cantrell Center.

A member of Christ United Methodist Church, Peggy was also a member for forty odd years of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. She spent twenty-two years as a Volunteer Advocate with HODAC Rape Crisis and Domestic Violence Team and also served on the HODAC Board. Peggy was Volunteer of the Year and Woman of the Year with both organizations. She was preceded in death by her son, John Edward Stocker; her parents; and her uncle, Earl Brummit.

Her memory will forever be treasured by her loving husband and best friend of thirty-two years, John C. Stocker, Warner Robins; four children of whom were her heart, David Wayne McLarney (Margaret) of Charlotte, North Carolina, Debra Sue Kelman (George) of Goldsboro, North Carolina, Patti Ann McLeroy (Marcus) of Atlanta, and Michele Lynn Smither of Warner Robins; eleven wonderful grandchildren who were the joy in her life, Kelly Michele Kovitch and Ashleigh Nichole Bowling, both of Atlanta, Bryan Michael Harlowe of Deltona, Florida, Rebekah Michele Kelman of Atlanta, David Aaron Kelman of Houston, Texas, Dana Paige Kelman of Goldsboro, North Carolina, Christen Marie Kohajda (Jason) and Lauren Michelle McLarney, both of Baltimore, Maryland, Jami Elise Smither and Peggy Jean Smither, both of Warner Robins, Jenny Sue Stocker of Salem, Oregon; nine amazing little great-grandchildren, Rosemary Alexis Bowling, Taylor Landon Bowling, Memphis Isabell Presley Bowling, Michael Brandon Kovitch, and Logan Alexander Kovitch, all of Atlanta, Peyton Ray Harlowe, Ryan Michael Harlowe, Eli Joseph Harlowe, all of Deltona, Florida, and Garrett Austin Kelman of Houston, Texas; sister, Cindy Milburn of Jeffersonville, Indiana; three brothers, Jack Wilson (Sherrie), Billy Wilson (Joyce), and Michael David Wilson (Becky), all of Louisville, Kentucky; and several nieces, nephews, and wonderful friends.

The family will receive friends on Friday, August 17, 2012 from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 18, 2012 at Christ United Methodist Church with entombment following in Parkway Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Reverend Richard Soper will officiate.
