Peggy E. Gillie, 78, entered into rest on Wednesday, June 5, 2013.
Peggy was born on February 1, 1935 in Hogansville, Georgia and was retired from Sears and Roebuck Company after thirty years. She was a devoted member of First Baptist Church in Warner Robins for more than fifty years. Softball was a huge part of Peggy's life as she played and coached for over half a century. She was proud of her family and never missed her children and grandchildren's athletic events. Her husband of fifty-seven years, Jack W. Gillie; parents, Lamar and Sarah Stone Estes; and brother, Ronald Estes, preceded her in death.
Her memory will forever be treasured by her adoring children, Chuck Gilley, Darlice G. Goulding (Ricky) and Amy G. Layfield (Keith), all of Warner Robins, Georgia; ten grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; siblings, Harold Estes (Louise), Hogansville, Georgia and Larry Estes (Donna), Milledgeville, Georgia; and many loving nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Friday, June 7, 2013, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 8, 2013 in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with interment following in Magnolia Park Cemetery. The family will accept flowers or donations may be given to Heart of Georgia Hospice, 103 Westridge Drive, Warner Robins, Georgia 31088.
