Peggy Burdine, 86, entered peacefully into rest on December 22, 2022.
Peggy was born on April 29, 1936 in Prichard, Alabama to the late Lonnie Albert Deming and Gertrude Cammack Deming. Peggy graduated from Vigor High School in Prichard, Alabama in 1955. She then started her career in civil service at Brookley Air Force Base in Mobile, Alabama. There, she’d go on to meet and fall in love with her husband, Seventeen. At the time of the base closure in 1969, both Peggy and Seventeen relocated to Georgia to finish out her career at Robins Air Force Base after thirty three years of service. In her spare time, she could be found reading a book or shopping for beautiful clothes to fulfill her love of fashion. Her heart was tender for any animal; she happily fed stray animals but once began feeding a family of raccoons that eventually grew to at least twenty. Her fondest memories were of her family, both those living and those that had gone on before her. Her son and her grandkids were the light of her life.
Her memory will forever be treasured by her son and daughter-in-law, Andrew and Teresa Burdine, along with their children, Jacob and Lilly.
Peggy will be laid to rest next to her husband at the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in a private ceremony.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Seventeen Burdine, and her siblings Frank Deming, Wanda Brantley, and Tommy Deming.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations be given in memory of Peggy Burdine to The Humane Society at 810 Carl Vinson Pkwy, Centerville, GA 31028 or a charity of your choice.
