Prince Sherwood Halligan, Jr.

Prince Sherwood Halligan, Jr. passed away at his home in Fort Valley on Sunday, July 11, 2021. He was 75 years old.

Prince proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy and fought in the Vietnam War. After his time in the military, he opened his own land surveying business in Macon called Halligan and Associates. Well respected in his field, Prince was a surveyor for 50 years. He owned his company on Pierce Avenue for many years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Prince Sherwood Halligan, Sr. and Rita Randazzo Halligan; a son, Joseph Halligan; and sister, Patti Temples.

Left to treasure his memory are his wife of nearly 30 years, Mary Halligan; daughter, Joanne (Shannon) Pryor and their children, Nicholas Pryor, Sophia Pryor, and Sarah Pryor; deceased son Joseph Halligan’s children, Natalie Akins (Phillip) and Daniel Halligan; daughter, Melanie Padgett and her children, Regent Scandrett (Kelly), McCall Fuller, Seir Fuller, Teil Fuller (Jonathan Behling), and C.J. Fuller; daughter, Lynne Allen and her children, Katherine Allen-Mayer (Matt), Chad Allen, Claire Allen, and Guy Allen.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 14, 2021 at McCullough Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 14, 2021 at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. For friends unable to attend at this time, the service will be streamed live via the McCullough Funeral Home Facebook page at www.facebook.com/mcculloughfuneralhome/live/.
