Quinton Moody

Quinton Moody, 80, entered into rest on Wednesday, September 24, 2008.

Mr. Moody was born on March 6, 1928, in Philadelphia, Mississippi. With pride and honor he served in the United State Navy for two years, and the United States Air Force for twenty-two years, retiring as a Technical Sergeant. He opened Warner Robins Used Cars dealership which remained opened for forty-nine years, and had the distinction of being the oldest used car dealership in town. For a time, he served as a Houston County Deputy Sheriff. His membership in the American Legion, the Moose Lodge, the Disabled American Veterans and the Al Sihah Shriners Temple are a reflection of his community commitment. While stationed overseas with the U. S. Air Force, he coached Little League to Norwegian children; he remained a keen softball player until his seventy-ninth year, while maintaining an interest in all sports. His home church was First Assembly of God. His father, mother and a sister preceded him in death.

His memory will forever be treasured by his wife of fifty-two years, Shirley Blaine Moody; daughter, Debbie Moak, Baton Rouge, Louisiana; sister, Jean Graham, San Antonio, Texas; brother-in-law, Tom Rushing, Phoenix City, Alabama; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Friday, September 26, 2008, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 27, 2008, at First Assembly of God, Pastor Glenn Grantham officiating. Interment will be at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, September 29, 2008, in Edgefield Cemetery, McCool, Mississippi. Memorial donations may be made to the Scottish Rite Children's Hospital, 1001 Johnson Ferry Road NE, Atlanta GA 30342-1600.
