Ralph L. Kennedy

March 10, 1948 — July 19, 2017

On the evening of Wednesday, July 19, 2017, Ralph L. Kennedy walked into the loving arms of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in heaven. He was 69.

Ralph was born in Morgantown, West Virginia, the son of the late Ralph W. and Mary C. Goodnight Kennedy. He proudly served his country in the United States Army as a Ranger with the 82nd Airborne Division during the Vietnam War. Soon after his discharge from the military, Ralph made the lovely Judith Ann Bosley his wife. He went on to work as a production manager for a plastic plan for many years.

Subsequent to retirement, he was able to fully enjoy his passion for golf and landed his dream job at Pine Oaks Golf Course on Robins Air Force Base. Ralph was also very involved with the Centerville Planning and Zoning Committee. He took joy in playing golf, spending time with family, and riding horses, as well. Some of his greatest memories were of going on vacations with family, especially their trips to Ireland that “brought out the leprechaun” in him. Ralph leaves behind so many special memories for his family and friends to cherish; he will be sorely missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Louise Spring; and stepmother, June Kennedy.

Ralph’s memory will forever be treasured by his loving wife of 42 years, Judy A. Kennedy; children, Yuvett Chamberlain, Bridgett D. Lewis (Chad), Matthew A. Kennedy, and Jessica L. Kennedy; grandchildren, Kendra Lewis, and Electra, Samantha, and Kitrina Chamberlain; brother-in-law, Larry Spring; uncle, Don Kennedy; aunt, Virgie Williams; nieces and nephew, Barbara Gibson, Laura Rackley, and Stephen Spring; and a host of other nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

Visitation will be Sunday, July 23rd from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 24th in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. Ralph will be laid to rest at Indian Camp Cemetery in Upshur County, West Virginia. Service and burial information will be announced at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations be given in memory of Ralph Kennedy to the American Cancer Society, 804 Cherry St., Ste A., Macon, GA 31201.

McCullough Funeral Home and Crematory has the privilege of being entrusted with Mr. Kennedy's arrangements.
