Ralph M. Bowen

Ralph Merrice Bowen, born March 1, 1953 to the late Okey Corneil Bowen and Ellen Christine Yearty Bowen in Macon, Georgia died Wednesday, December 18, 2013 at Athens Regional Hospital. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Vernon Charles Bowen and Bert Eugene Bowen.

Ralph is survived by his wife of thirty eight years, Barbara Jean Bowen; sons, Scott Christopher Bowen, Mark Brian Bowen; daughter, Sheryl Anne Carson; six grandchildren; and sister, Wanda Eileen Purvis (Hughey).

Ralph was a life-long resident of Warner Robins. He owned and operated Classic Hardwood Floors since 1991. He was a passionate baseball coach with the Warner Robins Little League from 1983 until 1992. During his coaching tenure, Ralph added an All Star district championship title to Warner Robins Little Leagues' list of growing accolades. Ralph was also an avid outdoorsman who loved various kinds of hunting and fishing. Ralph was a member of Ekklesia of the Word Church. He was a faithful man of the Lord who loved his family. He was a strong, unselfish man with a servant's heart. Ralph leaves a loving legacy his family is proud to carry on.

The family will visit with friends on Saturday from 1:30 until time of service at Ekklesia of the Word Church. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, December 21, 2013 at Ekklesia of the Word Church with interment following in Magnolia Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests that donations be given to Ekklesia of the Word Church, 1519 Leverett Road, Warner Robins, Georgia 31088 or to Northeast Georgia Cancer Care Center, 3320 Old Jefferson Road Bldg. 700, Athens, Georgia 30607.
