Ralph Nelson

Ralph Nelson, 70, entered into rest on Saturday, November 22, 2014.

Ralph was born on September 21, 1944 in Warner Robins, Georgia, to the late Donald Martin Nelson Sr. and Georgia Rudder Nelson. He was a member of Harvest Church. Ralph graduated from Georgia Southern University and went on to receive his graduate degrees from Georgia College and State University and Georgia Southwestern State University. During his career, he was Assistant Principal at Quail Run Elementary and Crossroads High School. Ralph retired from the Houston County School System after thirty-four years of dedicated service.

After retirement, Ralph was elected and served on the Houston County Board of Education. He was a long time member of the Warner Robins Building Authority; serving for the past twenty years. Ralph was an accomplished musician and instilled in his children a love of music. He listened to the golden oldies on Saturday evenings, creating fond memories of cherished family time. Ralph was an avid golfer, loved the Georgia Bulldogs, and always enjoyed watching his family play sports.

His memory will forever be treasured by his loving wife of thirty years, Robin Curry Nelson, Warner Robins; children, Wayne Nelson (Nicole), Dublin; Bryan Nelson Moses, Houston, Texas; Amy Nelson Conner, Americus; Adrienne Nelson Thorpe, New Orleans, Louisiana; Jan Nelson DeVoursney (Eric), Warner Robins; brother, Donald Martin Nelson, Jr., Falls Church, Virginia; grandchildren, Adam, Aaron, and Alex Nelson; Lauren and Claire Patterson; Cole, Jacob and Grace Conner; and Jackson and Reagan DeVoursney.

Visitation will be Tuesday, November 25, 2014, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 25, 2014, in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. Burial will be private.
