Raymond L. ''Ray'' Mcdowell

Raymond L. "Ray" McDowell, 75, went to be with the Lord on Friday, July 10, 2015.

Ray was born on February 24, 1940 in Ben Hill County, Georgia to the late Grover and Dora Stone McDowell. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy and retired from Civil Service at Robins Air Force Base as a precision tooling calibrator.

Ray enjoyed attending Byron United Methodist Church. He also loved fishing, gardening and spending time at the beach, but most of all he loved taking care of his family. He will be greatly missed by all who had the chance to know him.

His memory will forever be treasured by his loving wife of 42 years, Donna Biggs McDowell of Byron; children, Teri Lynn Hillis (Craig) of Savannah and Raymond "Ramey" House (Lisa) of Helotes, Texas; grandchildren, Mikayla and Korey House, both of Helotes, Texas; brothers, Bob McDowell (Joan) of Warner Robins and Bill McDowell of Charleston, South Carolina; and several adoring nieces and nephews.

The family would like to give a special 'thank you' to Ray's devoted home health care provider, Tracey Wright for her unrelenting care and support.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, July 13, 2015 in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with Rev. Tyler Plaxico officiating. The family will greet friends at the funeral home from 12:30 p.m. until service time. Ray will be laid to rest in Parkway Memorial Gardens Mausoleum following the service.
