Reba Hayes Lewis

July 14, 1954 — May 14, 2022

Reba Hayes Lewis, 67, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 14, 2022, at the age of 67. She was born in Ashburn, GA to the late Carl and Ruth West Beard on July 14, 1954.

A natural born ‘helper,’ Reba exhibited this trait while working in the healthcare field. She enjoyed assisting patients at Mercer Pediatrics before joining Civil Service at Robins Air Force Base as an audiology technician. She served in Civil Service for a number of years before medically retiring.

Reba had a deep love for being in or around the water and absolutely loved trips to the beach, especially Fort Walton Beach. In her younger days, she enjoyed playing volleyball, and later on, picked up the love for bowling as she and her husband were members of several couple’s leagues over the years. Reba took pride in volunteering at the Museum of Aviation, as well.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, William Hayes “Billy” Lewis; and her brother, Stanley Beard.

Reba is survived by her loving husband of 42 years, George Lewis of Perry; her daughter, Jennifer Lewis Simmons of Warner Robins; her grandchildren, Hunter Bryce Lewis and Sky Leigh Simmons; her great-grandchildren, Sadie, Madison and Layton; and her siblings, Carl Beard, Faye Williams and Wanda Williams.

Visitation with Reba’s family will take place on Friday, May 20, 2022, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. She will be laid to rest with a graveside service on Saturday, May 21, 2022, at 10:30 a.m. in Parkway Memorial Gardens, with Pastor Tom Black officiating.

For family and friends unable to attend at this time, the service will be streamed live via the McCullough Funeral Home Facebook page at www.facebook.com/mcculloughfuneralhome/live/.
