Rev. A.L. Kelly

Rev. A.L. Kelly went to be with the Lord on the morning of Thursday, August 4, 2016. He was 77 years old.

Lavelle was born on March 12, 1939 in Choctaw County, Mississippi to the late Joe and Lillie Mae Tullos Kelly. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy and following his military career, answered God's call to his ministry. In 55 years, Rev. Kelly pastored churches in Georgia, Louisiana, and Mississippi. He loved the Lord and loved his church most recently attending Gateway Fellowship Church of God.

Rev. Kelly was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing in his leisure time. He was also a devoted family man who loved his wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchild. Lavelle's love for people and faith in God will forever live on in the hearts of his family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by many siblings.

He leaves his memory behind with his devoted wife, Jane Kelly of Byron; children, Rev. Tim Kelly (Melissa) of Macon and Tammie Kelly of Warner Robins; grandchildren, Jarred Kelly (Hannah) of Macon, Taylor Kelly of Warner Robins and Rebekah Kelly of Macon; great-granddaughter, Elyse Kelly of Macon; sisters, Willie Mae Moore and Earline Brown (John), both of Starkville, Mississippi; and a number of adoring nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 6th at Gateway Fellowship Church of God in Macon with visitation one hour prior to the service. Following the service, Lavelle will be laid to rest in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. The Rev. Haskell Rhodes and the Rev. Robert Webb will officiate.
