Rev. Claude V. Davis, Jr.

Rev. Claude V. Davis, Jr., 73, entered into rest on June 16, 2008.

Rev. Davis was born on November 3, 1934 in Hendersonville, North Carolina. With pride and honor, he served his country in the United States Air Force, where he served in the Korean Conflict. In 1956, he was ordained as a minister at East Juliette Baptist Church, and had the opportunity to serve numerous churches as pastor for over fifty-three years. He is retired from Robin Air Force Base where he worked in electronics, and during his tenure he was awarded numerous Air Force High-Value Suggestion Awards for his highly efficient and money-saving suggestions in Aviation Electronics Division. Shady Grove Baptist Church was his church home. His parents, Claude Davis, Sr. and Hattie Bell Davis, preceded him in death.

His memory will be forever treasured by his wife of fifty-three years, Ommie Louise Davis, Warner Robins; sons, Timothy John Davis, Bonaire, Kenneth Ray Davis (Brenda), Rossville, Terrell Lee Davis, Olny, Tennessee, Glenn Virgil Davis (Gay), Warner Robins, and Claude Virgil Davis III (Michele), Savannah; daughters, Theresa Lynn Wade, Warner Robins and Sharon Denise Kennedy (Randy), Boilingbroke; and nineteen grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 19, 2008 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, June 20, 2008 in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with interment following in the Magnolia Park Cemetery.
