Rev. Thomas W. Harrell, Sr.

Thomas W. Harrell, 91, entered into rest on Friday, September 13, 2013.

Tom was born on October 12, 1921, in Cuthbert, Georgia. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy on Destroyer Escort, US Crouter DE 11, during WWII, in the Pacific Theater. Tom graduated from Mercer University, Ft. Valley State University Master's Program and the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary with a Master's in Divinity. Tom served as pastor of several churches in Middle Georgia. He retired from the Houston County Board of Education after twenty years of dedicated service and from the Men's Department at Belk. Tom enjoyed membership in the Georgia State Chapter and the National Chapter of Destroyer Escort Sailors Association. He was a faithful member of Central Baptist Church and Pete Joyner's Sunday School Class. Tom was a loving husband, father, friend, and educator. His wife, Jimmie Carolyn Harrell and parents, James Monroe and Mattie Whitaker Harrell, all preceded him in death.

His memory will forever be treasured by his children, Jackie Warnock (Larry), Warner Robins; Shelia Parker (Wayne), Marietta; Tom Harrell, Jr., Warner Robins; Tim Harrell (Elizabeth), Warner Robins; grandchildren, Phillip Darin Reynolds, Wayne Loren Parker, Jr., Shane Parker, Victoria Parker Johnson, Melanie Warnock Bradley and Bryan Scott Warnock; and five great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Wednesday, September 18, 2013 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 19, 2013 in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with interment following in Magnolia Park Cemetery. Donations may be made to Central Baptist Church Building Fund, 1120 Lake Joy Road, Warner Robins, Georgia, 31088.
