Reverend Curtis Rodney

December 3, 1929 — November 3, 2020

The Reverend Curtis Rodney passed into the arms of his Lord and Savior on the evening of November 3, 2020. He was 90 years old. He was born in Tell City, Indiana, on December 3, 1929, to the late Rex Rodney and Ruth Frances Rodney. His wife of 56 years, Mary Rodney, son, Jody Rodney, and his brothers and a sister, preceded him in death.

Curtis grew up in Tell City, his birthplace, and graduated from South Spencer High School in Rockport, Indiana, where he played basketball. As a young man, Curtis also enjoyed boxing. Immediately after his graduation from high school, Curtis joined the U.S. Air Force. He spent 20 years in the service, earning the rank of Master Sergeant. He was a veteran of the Korean War. Once his service to our country was finished, Curtis went into civil service at Robins Air Force Base where he spent 20 years as a sheet metal mechanic before retiring. During his time in civil service, Curtis pursued his passion for the ministry by becoming a pastor. He served as pastor in five different churches in the greater Middle Georgia Area including; Poulan, Georgia Church of God of Prophecy, Eastman Church of God of Prophecy, Roberta Church of God of Prophecy; the 247 Church of God in Macon; and most recently, the Warner Robins Church of God. He acted as the district overseer for the Church of God and the Church of God of Prophecy. More than anything in his life, he loved the Lord, loved his family and loved his dog, Baxter.

Curtis will live on in the hearts of his daughter, Teresa Norman (Douglas) of Centerville; daughter-in-law, Lisa Rodney; grandchildren, Christy Williams, Melissa Macorkindale (Scott), and Michael Rodney (Allie); great grandchildren, Brett Williams, Ava Macorkindale, and Aiden Macorkindale; and a great many nieces and nephews.
