Richard E. Reed, Sr., 74, passed away on Sunday, December 7, 2003. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, December 26, 2003, in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. Interment will be in Andersonville National Cemetery on Monday, December 29 at 11 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Second Baptist Church Music Dept., 701 Sandy Run Rd., Warner Robins, GA 31088, or to Vista Care Hospice, 750 Baconsfield Dr., Ste. 115, Macon, GA 31211.
Mr. Reed was born in Savannah, New York, and attended Second Baptist Church of Warner Robins. He was retired from active duty in the United States Air Force and from civil service in the U.S. Postal Service. His parents, Arthur and Melvina Reed, and brother, Donald Reed, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife of fifty years, Waneta “Darlene” Reed, Bonaire; daughters, Diane K. Squires, Bonaire, and Yvonne G. Miller, Bakersfield, CA; son, Richard E. Reed, Jr., Burtonsville, MD; sister, Mildred Bowman, Savannah, NY; brother, Gerald Reed, Newark, NY; grandchildren, Lynette Shepherd and Brad Squires, Warner Robins, Jamie Miller and Sarah Miller, Bakersfield, CA, and Kari Squires, Bonaire; and great granddaughters, Hannah Shepherd and Kaitlyn Shepherd, Warner Robins.
McCullough Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
