Richard Henry "Rock" Hartley

March 19, 1952 — January 18, 2016

In the early morning hours of Monday, January 18, 2016, Rock Hartley went to be with the Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ in Heaven. He was 63.

Rock was born on March 19, 1952 in Atlanta, Georgia to the late Henry E. Hartley, Jr. and Sarah Burton Hartley. Retired from Ford Motor Company after 30 years, he enjoyed riding Indian Motorcycles with his friends and proudly founded the Calvary Christian Riders. Mr. Hartley also loved blowing the shofar. He founded RockOn Productions which specialized in non-profit benefits, including St. Jude Children's Research. For many years, he was a member of the Calvary Christian Center in Ormond Beach, Florida and most recently attended Cornerstone Church of Cochran. Rock loved the Lord and held bible studies in his home, and helped so many through his ministries. His love in life was to serve the Lord and lead others to Christ.

His memory will forever be treasured by his devoted wife of 35 years, Marsha McDonald Hartley of Hawkinsville; children, Jason Hartley (Regina) of Douglasville, Chad Hartley (Michelle) of Kailua, Hawaii, Wendy Hartley of Atlanta and Heidi Polich (Josh) of Temple, Georgia; grandchildren, Dillon and Libby Hartley, Amanda, Owen, Liam and Emmett Hartley, and Joseph and Isaiah Polich; brother, Bob Hartley (Mary) of Newnan; mother-in-law, Nancy Moore Dean of Foley, Alabama; nephew, Jacob Hartley (Amber); and his beloved pet, "Boogee" Hartley.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 21, 2016 in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior to the service. Following the service, Rock will be laid to rest in Tippettville Baptist Church Cemetery in Tippettville, Georgia.
